Sickness from work...?

My daughter, 20 year old is currently on the sick from work due to a bereavement, the boss now wants a meeting with her to discuss her future although she has produced a sick note for another 2 weeks, does she have to go to the meeting? Also if she wanta to leave her current job whilst still on the sick where does she stand with giving in her notice and would she be able to claim sickness benefits? This is going to be long term as the bereavement was sudden and tragic... Thanks...
