What do you think of this short story?

Seems engaging, and the plot is pretty good. The only problem I have with it, is that it is a form of purple prose. This is when a writer uses too many adverbs and adjectives to describe things... It lacks depth and meaning. However, I find that this only occurs in the beginning, and gets better towards the end. A good edit should fix that up for you!
