Do you think he likes me? what should i do?

i like my friend. he knows. i told him by text in october and he said he knew and when asked, his feelings were the same partly cuz he knew i liked him. but the next day, he denied liking me (had a friend ask him for me) ive had him over, he has fun... jump on the trampoline, he holds me, hides behind me... shows off by doing flips and stuff.. sang karaoke and he chose the songs (mr brightside, just the 2 of us, over my head)... calls me pretty much everyday first about hw but then off subject about anything... for hours at a time. we text all the time. he sometimes fakes an accent for the fun of it...last term we had lunch together, and we would get lunch together, sit across from each other and he would stare at me... even though i told him it made me feel awkward... he would sing and then look at me...last month was a dance where the girl asks the guy, so i asked him (hardest thing EVER!!) and he said yes(: but when we went, he wouldn't slow dance with me... (friends were with us) now, he meets with me after 1st period, sometimes before 1st, and sometimes after 2nd period.. which he didn't do before. and my friend said that when i don't come after 1st period, he ALWAYS asks if im gonna be there, and when they say no, he just walks off.. and when i do come, he says "oh! youre here!" (: my mom and family thinks he likes me (and me) and one of my friends, but my other friends don't think so (cuz he said he didn't...) the one friend of mine who thinks he likes me thinks that he denied liking me&didn't dance with me because he wants it just between the two of us, and not involving our friends... because we are both shy and have both never been in a relationship before... i kinda wanna ask him out... but am shy... and my mom said she wants him to ask me out but idt he ever will (too shy) i got this idea to look at his phone and change the greeting to "will you go out with me?" but i tried that today and couldn't find out how to change his greeting -___- what should i do? and sorry for this long description...
